Week 31 - Crackle Mani

This week I wanted to do something fun, just not a regular crackle manicure. This is what I came up with....

The base is All Night Long by Pure Ice, then I maked off a stripe on each nail with tape and painted with White Art by Isadora. I used Depend 1063 (white striper) for the edges and some white acrylic paint for the freehand nail art.

Week 21 - Fruit manicure

I had a hard  time coming up with something for this one and went out on You Tube. There I found THIS and made my own version.

This is a funky French (yes, I like French nails) with a lemon twist!! I alternated green (Wet'n'Wild SaGreena the Teenage Witch) and yellow (KleanColor Neon Yellow) on my tips and filled in the whole nail for accent on my ring fingers. Then I used acrylic paints to make the details and I really wanted to go over it with a nice fine glitter.... I look through all my display fans and found nothing.... until I checked one last time and found Claudia Glistening Snow just sitting there!! Perfect!! The only thing now is to practice more with my right hand....

As you can see i got some bed marks also.... grrrr!

Week 19 - Floral mani

I'm have not been practicing my one stroke enough to make a nice floral manicure, but I found that this worked just as well...

Background is Depend 196 and the flowers are done with white, red and yellow acrylic paint, a dotting tool and a drag tool. Nothing advanced, but yet fun and easy!! A real swatch of the background color is coming up....

Week 8 - Corset mani

I never was that good at freehand work so I thought I cheat a bit on this one... I started searching through my image plates and found BM202 from Bundle Monster. It is a great image and it would have worked perfectly, but.... black is the worst color ever to stamp in and as I'm not that experienced in stamping either I ended up with a crocked design! On top of this, it ALWAYS drags when I put top coat on! (despite efforts to not get the brush on to the nail and such) Well, I thought I'd show you anyway....

This came off right after I took the photos.... and I decided to give the classic corset mani a try....
The base is Depend 262, a matte black with shimmer. Then I painted the rest with acrylic paint. I'm not really OK with this either... as you can see in the photo, the pink acrylic cracked a bit when I put the top coat on... both with matte and shiny top coat! The one thing I'm really proud of is that I actually did manage to get the black stripes soo thin and with my non-dominant hand. Well.... I tried at least!

French Christmas

Denna började som en vanlig fransk, men min teknik är inte så bra än så jag valde att lägga till en röd linje och lite glitter. Det var dock svårt att få glittret jämt.... Perfekt till jobbmiddagen imorron kväll.

In english: Started this one out as a regular french, but my skills are not that good yet so I decided to add a red line and some glitter to it. The glitter was hard to get even though.... Perfect for my workdinner tomorrow night.

Base: Depend 4250, Light Pink
White tip: Acrylic paint
Line: Depend 19, Dark Red
Glitter: Mavala Glitter Red (new)

Acrylic Paint

Eftersom jag har lite dåligt med tid just nu får ni ett par bilder ur arkivet. Det här är bara ett barnsligt test med vattenlöslig akrylfärg istället för lack. Fördelen är att om du målar fel är det bara att torka av med lite vatten, förutsatt att grundfärgen torkat helt!

In english: Since my time is running out, you get a couple of pictures from the archives. This is just a childish test with water-soluable acrylic paint. The possibility to whipe it off with water is a good advantage, provided the basecolor is completely dry!

Base: Depend 202, Purple

Art: Pink and yellow acrylic paint.
