Depend 306 and 328

A double for you today!

I started out with 306 from the Summer collection in 2012. It is a sheer yellow and in these photos I have three coats on and still VNL. Despite of that I really like it and it's not that visible in the sunlight....

Then I decided to put 328 on top. It came with the Fall collection in 2012 and is a light yellow base with what I can see some kind of light yellow glitter. I only put one coat of this and that's enough if you layer it. On it's own you probably need at least two, maybe three, coats to make it opaque.

The so called glitter in this polish is not as shiny as regular glitter, but it gave the nails another dimension!

Brisk Yellow

A sunny yellow shade with shimmer in it.

Works like a charm on my pale skin even though it's probably a lot nicer on somebody sunburned. It is not quite opaque enough in two coatsbut I decided not to put a third one on. The number for this one is 93, but I have no idea in what collection.... can't seem to find any clues with Google as my help either.

 This is an older polish and you can tell because it is uneven and it was hard to paint with.

Bananas!

Yes, it can really make you go bananas!

In contrast to Mellow Yellow, this one is almost neon. It worked really well with only two coats and it looked awesome! This one also has a shimmer that makes it glow in the sunlight.

After the first coat it looked like I could be having trouble with brush strokes but it did smooth out after the second coat.

Mellow Yellow

I have always felt like this one is a bit wimpy because it's a pastel, but once I got it on my nails I loved it!

It's Mellow Yellow (653) I'm talking about and it came in the same collection as South Beach in Spring of 2011. Beside the pastel shade it has a nice shimmer to it that I discovered when I looked at the photos!

I had to put 3 coats on to avoid VNL and I can still se a hint of it.

Lime

When I ordered it off Ebay I did imagined  it a bit more green, but when I got it, it was a lot lighter than I expected. Either way I like the color! Here it is...

This one is also sheer and I am wearing three coats in these photos. Another problem was the brushmarks and it was really hard to get a smooth finish! But at least the color is pretty!

Neon Yellow

This is Neon Yellow by KleanColor and I got it together with the other KleanColor polishes in August of 2011. I bought this one because I had not yet found a nice yellow polish that isn't to runny or to sheer.

This one goes on in two coats, has a nice color and looks nice. The backside of KleanColor is the smell and the ridiculously long drying time.... Anyway, it works and I like it!

I really hope that summer is on it's way....

Blazing Yellow

As I was hunting down a nice yellow polish in the spring of 2011 I bought this one. I tested it, and put it away.

It's by Pieces and called Blazing Yellow. It's yellow alright, but when you put it on it's just too sheer and here I've put on three coats and it really looks like it could use at least one or two more. I also had a problem with streaking and running, the formula was so thin....

 It will stay in my collection and it might be that you can layer it onto white or something.... but it does not work on it's own....

Depend 35

As I'm going through and trying out my polishes I found this one! A neon yellow that needs to have a white base to be opaque, but then gives a really nice impression! When I did this I was in a bit of a hurry and manage to damage it while taking photos... That's why I'm hiding a piece of my pinkynail...

I've also updated Glamour White with a couple of sunny photos...

Week 30 - Water Marble Mani

Ok, you know I've tried this both once and twice and did not succeed.... this was my third attempt and this time I had better luck with what polishes worked in the water. On the other hand it was harder to get the colors to work together.... As I was trying out different combinations I came up with a couple that work well when I tried them on a displayfan-stick, but when I actually did try it on my nails it was tooo subtle and didn't really pop so I took it off again.... But, I did save the swatch-sticks to show you!

I'm really going to try getting the first one, lime and copper, on to my nails as soon as because I really liked it, and I hope that I can make it that time!!

Week 25 - Pride/Rainbow Mani

I'm on time!!

I love this kind of manicures with a lot of color!! I really wanted to do a sponge mani for this one, but change my mind and did a striped one instead....

As you can see I slipped a bit on my ring finger... these stripes are painted with my non dominant hand, hence the slipping.... But I'm happy and no one is going to inspect them more than me! :)

All polishes are Isadora, the base is Glamour White, then from tip in is Blue Lagoon, Ocean Green, Aloha and Bananas!

Week 24 - Flag mani

I was planning to do the Swedish flag out of last weeks blue ombre... although it failed miserably so I made it today instead! I used Isadora Bananas! (736) for the base of my thumb and ring. Then I made strips of tape and topped it off with Isadora Silver sky, as well as the other nails....

I really love the outcome of this one and think I will be wearing this for the Swedish national day next year!

Week 21 - Fruit manicure

I had a hard  time coming up with something for this one and went out on You Tube. There I found THIS and made my own version.

This is a funky French (yes, I like French nails) with a lemon twist!! I alternated green (Wet'n'Wild SaGreena the Teenage Witch) and yellow (KleanColor Neon Yellow) on my tips and filled in the whole nail for accent on my ring fingers. Then I used acrylic paints to make the details and I really wanted to go over it with a nice fine glitter.... I look through all my display fans and found nothing.... until I checked one last time and found Claudia Glistening Snow just sitting there!! Perfect!! The only thing now is to practice more with my right hand....

As you can see i got some bed marks also.... grrrr!

Week 18 - Cartoon Mani

I had to really think this one through and found out that I really don't have a favorite cartoon.... Instead I'm really into games and went back thinking about what my favorites are... and found this....

This is a game I played in my early teens in the nineties... Suplaplex! I don't know if any of you recognize it, but I really loved it and I'm pleased to be able to play it again even though it's quite old by now! I chose to practice my freehand for this and picked out a couple of icons from the game....

On my thumb you can see Supaplex himself, like a red kind of Pacman. On my index you have the evil scissor.... kind of like the ghosts in Pacman but they really follow you around fast! On my middle finger is the things you're supposed to collect. On the ring finger I have a diskette of the old kind. This yellow one is for blowing up stones. The pinky motive is the exit sign you have to locate to exit the level.

I've used both polish and acrylics for this one, the background colors are all Depend (Orange 242, Green 289 and black 39. The Blue is Wet'n'Wild Saved by the Blue, the gray is Depend 285 and the turqoise is Isadora Turquoise 114. The rest is acrylics.

This was/is my favorite game and it probably will be for a bit longer....
