First time tape manicure!

I made this for the Polish-aholics Anonymous Monday Mani. It was a bit of trouble because I had a really hard time choosing my colors and then to get some straight lines and crisp edges..... This is what came out!

In the night (atrificial light) on top and outside in the sunlight underneath. I really like the color combo, it sticks out!! The purple glitter is Sparkling Purple from Claudia and the yellow is Acid Yellow from Mavala. I painted the accent nails yellow and the rest purple. Then I taped one accent nail at a time and painter it with the purple to create the pattern. At last I took a dotting tool and made some dots.....

Weekend Haul!!

As I work all weekday and rarely get off before the stores close I went into town today (Saturday)....

I came home with a couple of bottles of Myrrh Oil, a nice light blue Crackle polish from Depend and my ever first glass file!! I was actually looking for a nail file to have in my purse because I hate it when I damage a nail out on the go or at work! Well at home I decided that the glass file is staying at home and my old one goes in the purse.... And yes, I really found a great match in the Mavala Super Base!

As for not nailrelated items I also found a nice light blue (surprised?) flower necklace and a pair of Ballerina shoes on sale!! I really like these spontaneous shopping trips with ever best Linda!!

Swedens National Day

Today we celebrate the Swedish National Day. We've had beautiful weather all day and I was out walking with my camera for a few hours..... I want to show you my messy manicure as well as some photos from the track by the river!

I'll start with the manicure.... The idea is based on a picture I saw on the web a while ago and I'm sorry to say I don't know who made it! The colors are taken from the Swedish flag. The base is Mavala Acid Yellow and the blue is Depend 171. I now think a lighter blue could work well, but I was afraid it would turn green on me..... Anyways, I need a lot more practice on my freehand painting so beware, I'm probably going to post more.....

As fore the rest of the photos I'll let them do most of the talking....

Even this small river has sand dunes. This is were we bathed when I was a kid!

One more unhappy tree.... you can see that Mr Beaver has taken the bark off!

Halfway you get to cross the river on this bridge. The cars cross above your head....

Browns, Golds, Yellows and Nudes

....or at least one brown....

Acid Yellow

Finally!!!

I have found a favorite yellow....I work good with my skin tone and the shimmer in it is awesome! It's called Acid Yellow and the brand is Mavala. The formula makes it easy to paint with and  the color is nice yellow with kind of a pearl finish.

As for the photo.... I have not gotten to terms with it quite yet, but I'm getting better.... I hope that my niece can shed some light on it next week! This photo shows bright direct sunlight. Click on it to get a closer look!

Haul

This week I made the choice to sell a couple of my old gold-necklaces. They were just laying around, not being used at all for several years. I got a bit of money and wanted to spoil myself and restock a bit....

In our local Kicks-store they had take 3, pay for 2 on all Depend polishes, so I rounded up a Nail Strengthener and a Nail Serum. Then I had a problem.... which color to choose.... I have sooo mäny of them now that it's getting hard. Finally I chose number 136 (and no, they don't have any fancy names, sorry), a nice light pink. Hopefully I can cover up the yellow staining that has appeared on my nails....

I also wanted a top coat, as I ran out and didn't like that much..... Sooo, I looked for something that was cheaper and supposed to dry my nails quickly. I ended up with this:

So far I've tried it twice and it has kept its promise to dry your nail polish so that it is touchable after 1 minute. I'll keep trying this until I'm out and then we'll see if I buy it again. Even if it doesn't dry that quickly I still needed a top coat.....

Glitters

Ok, the wheel with the fewest colors....

I love the glitter and sparkle, and it really shows! I can see now when I look at the finishes that the pink one does not really fit it (it's really a kind of shimmer and should be on the red/pink wheel), but it's there and will be until I decide to make new wheels.... As usual, the ones only with numbers are Depend.

Red Sparkle

Min svåger bjöd in oss till en tidig jullunch och jag valde att göra en lätt och snabb manikyr. Jag hade inte tid att leta efter idéer eller att göra en komplicerad manikyren så, för er som inte har verktygen eller tålamodet, det här är något både enkelt och snyggt. Du kan naturligtvis använda de färger du själv tycker bäst om!

In english: My brother-in-law invited us for an early christmas lunch at his house and I decided to do a simple and quick manicure. I didn't have the time to search for ideas or to do an complicated manicure so, for those of you that do not have the tools or the patience, this is something both simple and classy. You can, of course, use yous own favourite colours.

Base:: Isadora Wondernail 13, Star Glaze (2 coats)
Glitter: Mavala Glitter Red

French Christmas

Denna började som en vanlig fransk, men min teknik är inte så bra än så jag valde att lägga till en röd linje och lite glitter. Det var dock svårt att få glittret jämt.... Perfekt till jobbmiddagen imorron kväll.

In english: Started this one out as a regular french, but my skills are not that good yet so I decided to add a red line and some glitter to it. The glitter was hard to get even though.... Perfect for my workdinner tomorrow night.

Base: Depend 4250, Light Pink
White tip: Acrylic paint
Line: Depend 19, Dark Red
Glitter: Mavala Glitter Red (new)
