Jolly Holly

Also another polish you've seen before, but I really wanted all my swatches to be just swatches so I'll show them again.

From China Glaze's colecction 'tis season to be naughty and nice (x-mas 2010) that I bought on sale with two of the other polishes (Mistletoe Kisses and Midnight Kiss) and I simply love it! This is how it looks in the sun...

It looks really dark in the bottle but it lights up in the sun and looks really great even in summer! Felt just as new to paint with and dried quickly.

Hope you enjoyed!

Modify Me!

It came just in time....

I got this one from Linda for my birthday this week and it's kind of awesome! I had almost forgot about these because I haven't seen that much photos of them. This one is Modify Me by China Glaze from the Tranzitions Collection. It changes color slightly when top coat is applied.

Here I've used a dotting tool to create the dots, but the back of a pen or a tooth pic is just good enough!

Hope you enjoyed!

Depend 314

As the world outside is just white, gray and blue I wanted something with a colorpunch and I had a craving for green!!

I pulled out all my green swatchsticks from the untried batch and tried to make something of them, but I had to get the tried ones out as well... I had a hard time choosing and I tried the design on a nailwheel first in four different combos. It came out 50-50, but this was really the best one! A big thanks to Linda, who cave the good advise!

First I want to show you my base color. This is number 314 from Depend. A really nice green pastel that came out with the Summer collection of 2012, but it was quickly withdrawn due to staining. I was fast and got me one and I don't really care if it does stain now that I now it probably will... it's a really nice green!!

The first photo is more color correct than the second who is way too cool...  As I said, green was the way to go this weekend and I did try several combinations with this green as the base. A couple too wimpy and a couple really good, but the one down below was a real winner!!

I took some striping tape and made this design... not very difficult but it calls for precision and patience! The dark green polish is China Glaze Jolly Holly from the 2011 Christmas collection. I've saved the best photo for last.... my instagram photo....
I used our chiliplant as props and the nice huge daylight lamp hanging above it was great lighting....

Hope you enjoyed!

Easy inspiration!

Yesterday I was looking at my subscription channels on Youtube and this had just come up.

She is really talented, check out her blog: Nail Art for more!! This gave me inspiration to do something on top of the green beetle! I didn't manage to do the spirals, but I did my own twist.

The background is as I you know Isadora Beetle Green (720). The gold stripes and dots are made with Depend Art Liner in gold (1061) and under those patches are China Glaze Mistletoe Kisses.

Hope you enjoyed!

Gold & Pink Watermarble

My second attempt at water marbling and I wanted to show you the results.....

I found it a bit hard to do and had to figure out a way to get as close to filtered water as I could (anyone know a good way of getting filtered water in Sweden without spending a lot of money?) The polish would not spread as good as I wanted it to, but enough for me to dip my nails in. I'll show you both hands and my favorite nails.

For you who are thinking of trying this, do some research and make sure you have the supplies and a few hours to play. Your first try, or even second, will not be perfect (mine isn't) and just have fun with it!!

Top pictures are of my left hand (to the left) and my right hand. Bottom pictures are of my right thumb (left), my right ring finger (middle) and my left thumb (right). The lower pictures are my favorite outcomes of this trial. I found myself hurrying past myself and not taping my nails so I had to start over a few times.

The nails are prepped with a base coat (as always) and then Isadora Tip White to make the colors more vibrant and visible.... The two colors I used for the marbling is China Glaze Midnight Kiss and Claudia Shocking Pink.

Hope you enjoyed!

Checkers!

When I was surfing around other blog I found a design that I really loved. On top of that I realized I had the material to almost copy it. THIS is the original design by My Simple Little Pleasures.... and below you can see mine. Thanx for the inspiration Colette!

I've used China Glaze Misteltoe Kisses as base, wore for a day and the stamped with black konad special polish and konad imageplate m64. I loved it and wore it until it started to chip!!

Misteltoe Kisses

This one came with the set of three China Glaze polishes named Dreamin' of a Green Christmas.... it also contained Midnight Kiss and Jolly Holly. You've already seen it on top of Jolly Holly and I wanted you to see it on its own. I really love the sparkle and I only needed two coats to make it opaque. I can't take my eyes off my nails now....

Also, since I've started with the Myrrh Oil on my cuticles, they have gotten much much better so now I don't have to be embarressed over them! Oh, and I almost forgot... here a little video of the sparkle...

Colour of the month - January

Here´s something new for you, colour of the month!

I will present the most popular post and what colour I've been mostly obsessed with the past month. As for the post, the Depend Art Liner har the highest number of views and I really like it for it's opacity and just because it is a liner. What I've heard since a made the post it has been difficult to get a hold of and I think I'm quite lucky to have found it.

On the my colourobsession side I've felt very glittery this month although I've only shown a few designs and swatches with glitter my feelings for glitter also includes shimmers.... I just love that extra bit of sparkle it gives. All time high in my current collection is Isadoras Sheer Amethyst and Mistletoe Kisses!

Midnight Kiss

This one I've tried one time before, took pictures and everything. But I was never quite satisfied with it. Now that I've tried it again I'm still not convinced.....

The first coat is fine, but it is a bit sheer so two or three coats are needed. When I put the second coat on it looks good but I think that you should probably let the second coat be as thin as possible and put a third on. My second coat always tends to be a little bit thick so the result I got this time was dents on my thumbs even though I waited for it to dry between coats and for the last coat to dry before I put a topcoat on.

The colour on the other hand is amazing, it really looks like gold to me. The finish is a pure foil, with the metallic base and lote of sparkly glitter. Even if it didn't turn out perfekt I took some pictures....

Jolly Holly and Misteltoe Kisses

These two are from China Glaze collection 'Tis The Season to be Naught and Nice. I bought them in a set that also contained Midnight Kisses. Jolly Holly is a really dark green creme. It's opaque enough in one coat but I made it two just because.... And for a bit of life a put Misteltoe Kisses as an accent. It's a green glitter on a sheer green base. It looked perfect on Jolly Holly!!

I manage to get a little bit of sun... that's rare for this time of year and I'm happy to have caught it!
