Golden Apricot

This subtle shimmering gold polish is perfect for when you need your nails to look good, but they don't need to be the center of attention! It's called Golden Apricot (161) by Isadora.

I put on 2 coats and because it's so sheer I didn't bother to try to loose the VNL, I liked it the way it looked!

Depend 6003

Lovely bronze color in two shades when you put the magnet to it. All of these have fabulous color just as they are without the magnet and are completely wearable as they are, but the magnet gives it another dimension.

This one get a golden shimmer...

This time I did two coats and let dry before I applied the third one and put the magnet on. It worked out a lot better than the first two I did....

Gold Sparkles

Another foil polish, this time in gold. As you see in the title it's called Gold Sparkles (652) by Isadora. I can't seem to find what collection this and Silver Sparkles are from, but they definitly came out before the end of 2010!

This one is perfect for any kind of celebration but you will need at least three coats for it to be opaque, maybe more. Unlike it's silver sister the color is not so forgiving!

Bronzing Gold

I love how this one shines in the sun!

It's called Bronzing Gold (124) by Isadora and I found this one on ebay really cheap. I needed two coats for this one and it went on smoothly.

Gold and white art

Just some easy nailart to show a couple of my Depend Art Liners.

This is made with yesterdays Plum for a base and then I pulled out number 1061 (gold) and 1063 (white). These look like the regular Depend bottles but has a stripingbrush instead of the regular one and the price is a bit higher.

I started out with the gold one fanning out from the corner of my nail. I then added the with the same way and lastly one more go with the gold one. Looks ok i guess....

Week 6 - Halfmoon Manicure

I've been wanting to try this one, but never thought of it when painting my nails. I did as I usually do when choosing polish for the challenge.... I pull out my cup (originally for candy) with all my swatches and pull out the ones sticking up and the nail wheels. These are the colors that is not yet posted as swatches on the blog.... It's A LOT!

 At least I found the gold from Depend that I showed you a couple of days ago and I also found Forest (719) from Isadora that has a gold shimmer in it. As I was researching this look, I found that most use reenforcement stickers (for reinforcing punched holes in paper). So I went to my local office-supply store and didn't find any, but instead I found these....

Just plain white color coding dots.... I use the smaller kind to put on top of my Depend bottles to be able to see what number they are. I figured these would work as good. Well, they probably worked as good and the colors went great together, but I'm not liking the look.....Haven't the faintest idea why, but I think it's coming off real soon. This is how it looks:

A bit uneven due to the taping but otherwise OK. The green in the Isadora polish came out a bit more than I expected, but it was also fine! I guess I'll be showing you a complete swatch of Forest on it's own soon.

Forest!

I'm really longing for spring right now. Today when I woke up (pretty late, but anyway) the temrapture outside was -19 degrees celcius (approx. -2,5 F) so I'm not going outside unless I need to. The sun is out though so the pictures are taken in sunlight!

This is really more an autumn shade, but I think I'm just longing for the "not snow"-season! It's from Isadora and is named Forest (719). It came out with their Autumn/Winter Collection 2011 and has the wide brush. It took two coats to be opaque.

See the gold shimmer? I love it!! The really dark hunter green is really lovely to! Tomorrows challenge-post will contain this and yesterdays polishes.....

Depend 45

Time for that glitter!!

I've actually chosen this as the "base" color for this weekends challenge post, but wanted to show you a clean swatch of it!

It is the gold glitter (number 45, no name) from Depends Core Collection. This really sparkles and you only need 2 coats to get it opaque and for it to work on it own. I had a bit of a rough time with my bottle because I've had it forever and it smelled like solvent.... I'd better clean out this bottle, replace it with the new one I got and pour something else into the clean bottle :)

Sooo... here it is!

 I like it on it's but i really needs a good topcoat, because it is all bumpy!

Kicks "Evening at Chateau Marmont"

Yay, my computer are back, and so am I!

I'm starting off by showing you what I wore for my trip to Amsterdam. This is "Evening at Château Marmont" by Kicks. It look like spilled oil in the bottle, but more gold when it gets on your nails.
These photos are taken at Arlanda Airport, because I didn't have the time at home!

This actually made it through a whole week, with some tip wear. The formula is really thin, so you might need 3 to 4 coats to make it really opaque.

I'm not really sure that I like the color, I think I need to wear it one more time to make up my mind!


I still have a lot of things to photograph, especially under my new daylight bulb..... so look out for more posts! A post on Amsterdam is coming up on my regular blog if you're interested.

Easy inspiration!

Yesterday I was looking at my subscription channels on Youtube and this had just come up.



She is really talented, check out her blog: Nail Art for more!! This gave me inspiration to do something on top of the green beetle! I didn't manage to do the spirals, but I did my own twist.

The background is as I you know Isadora Beetle Green (720). The gold stripes and dots are made with Depend Art Liner in gold (1061) and under those patches are China Glaze Mistletoe Kisses.

Golden butterflies

Could not resist the Konad....

This time I decided I'll have some butterflies and everything went OK. The only sad thing is that there was no way of turning the butterflies..... but it looks ok anyway. The image is from Konad Imageplate m20 with Golden Breeze (86 Isadora) as a base and Konad special polish in black.

Golden Breeze

I had my brown/gold tunic on and decided to do something matching on my nails. I found Golden Breeze (86) from Isadora and it was perfekt!

Nice formula, no wide brush and a really nice copper color that has a hint of gold and green in it - can you see it? I love this color!

Haul!!

Just out of the blue my best girl Linda ask me for some company in to town....and sure, why not! We had the most hilarious two hours with shopping and a break with milkshakes! The result of this trip was a nice purple top, some necessities and 4 new polishes.....

Or Scintillant

A really nice sparkling Yves Rocher mini polish! I like these polishes, even though the brush is sooo small that even with really short nails I had to dip it at least twice.... I put on two coats and it's still really sheer... you could probably get it a little more opaque with another coat, but was satisfied like this!

The handle of these mini polishes is really small and kind of hard to maneuver and the brush is also small.... I don't have a clue about how the normal size bottles are so I'm not going to say anything. I liked this one and it will be perfect to layer over something else!!

Both of the photos above is taken in bright sunlight but with different cameras. The first one with our new camera and the bottom photo with our usual compact camera..... I really like the new camera.... it gives me brighter photos and hopefully (when I learn) I will be able to give you more color correct photos!
