Blazing Yellow

As I was hunting down a nice yellow polish in the spring of 2011 I bought this one. I tested it, and put it away.

It's by Pieces and called Blazing Yellow. It's yellow alright, but when you put it on it's just too sheer and here I've put on three coats and it really looks like it could use at least one or two more. I also had a problem with streaking and running, the formula was so thin....

 It will stay in my collection and it might be that you can layer it onto white or something.... but it does not work on it's own....

Week 23 - Ombre Manicure

I'm more late than ever... My life has been upside down for a bit! New job with a lot of learning, a birthday party for Linda and my sister-in-law lost her son due to chronicle illness. But I''m still trying and my nails are more often painted now! This one I had to google just to make sure! Originally you are supposed to take a dark and a light polish and then mix them to get the gradient.... I made it easy and looked into my stash, picking out 5 polishes for this....just to bail out of the messy part! Here's my ombre....

Still loving blue and it matches my phone cover! From thumb to pinky: Isadora - Blue Jeans, Isadora - Bugatti Blue, Pieces - Dolce Blue, Isadora - Blue Lagoon and Isadora - Baby Blue.

Week 15 - "Easter day" Manicure

I know, I know.... a day late again! Well, I seem to having trouble taking time doing my nails.... But here it is!!


I started off with a skittle, because I was having a hard time choosing my color and style for this manicure... Here is, from pinky to thumb: Pieces "Blazing yellow", The rest is Isadora, "Power Pink", "Lilac Bikini", "Baby Blue" and "Marzipan" I prepared my nails with Isadora "Glamorous White" to get some of the colors more opaque.

As I'm going to a new job tomorrow I wanted to tone it down a bit and pulled out my Isadora Graffiti Nail Top in "Black Tag" It was just really thick and hard to paint with, I probably need to put some thinner in it.... but it worked this time!

I love it!! It is the most fun manicure in a long time!!

Color of the month

This month has been about a lot of blue..... I have discovered that I'm always drawn to blue shades, whether it be polish or something else. It really is my favorite color!

 Coming up this week is a couple of blues as well as greens.... but for now you'll have to settle with an old photo of one of my absolut favorite blues in my collection!

Enclosed dots

Since the Rose Powder was not a match to my skintone i decided to style it a bit and wear it for a day or to anyway... to see if I could change my mind.... I didn't.... But I'll show you the nailart anyways!

I used my Lovie and Depend art liners to do the lines and the dots are made with the Depend artliner polish and a dotting tool... First I thought of doing a copy of the Movie Flares, but you've already seen that, so I changed it a tad bit!

Pieces - Rose Powder

Grrrr... Blogger seems to live it's own life! As you can see... the previous four posts came in the wrong order (and one was duplicated) despite my efforts to schedule! Sorry about that, I hope it does not happen again.....

Well, this is another one of my Pieces polishes. I'm not quite satisfied with this one.... The color is nice, but completely wrong for my skin tone!! The color is a dusty pink and the formula is creme.... nothing special, but but would look really nice on someone with a darker skin tone!

As I said before, the bottle caps are square and a bit hard to handle. This time I manage a bit better.... You'll have to excuse the look of my nails... after my thumb accident I cut all my nails to get rid of some discoloration, and I don't have much time for care now that I've started working. Well... It'll get better when I'm not learning.....

Depend Cracked Effect Blue

Well, time again for a spruced up manicure. This time I chose crackle polish just because I saw a friend at work wear it!!

I chose Depend 5002 (Blue with shimmer) as a crackle and I had Dolce Blue on since yesterday and I think it made a great effect! The first time I tried the Depend crackle polish it dried kind of slowly but this time it dried almost instantly.... I think our sunny weather may have something to do with it!

I know I've shown you this one before.... but I could not help myself..... For once I topped it with a matte top coat to get rid of some of the shimmers as I wanted it to be a bit easygoing, but you can still see the shimmer!

Pieces - Dolce Blue

One of my three last polishes from Pieces and, as you know with all blue polishes, I love it!!!

The formula is a creme, wit ha slight hint of jelly and the color isa nice blue with a hint of purple. As you can see in one of the photos, it matches my training-top perfectly!

I had a bit of trouble painting with these.... as the handle is rectangular (look here for bottleshots) and not round. I find round handles easier..... otherwise it went on well and above is only 2 coats.

I also want you to know that if I'm missing a day or to soon, it's because I'm starting a new job and learning makes me really tired!! Hopefully our lovely sun will make me more alert and trigger my inspiration... I hope you don't mind and I only hope that I will be able to keep up!

Nailwheel Blues/Greens

Well, as if I would not buy any more polish..... hmf, I don't think so!!

You've already seen Not Like the Movies and are about to see Dolce Blue this week.... St Lucia is a save for some special occasion, I don't really know which one yet! As you can see.... no 5 is similar to no 3 (Yves Rocher Mini - Ciel Bleu) No 5 is more pigmented and has a gold shimmer instead of pink/purple. I just hope that no 5 is not as sheer as no 3!!

Haul (again)

Well, I keep on buying polish.... thats it!

This time I went to town and I found a nice bargain at Vero Moda. They had tree polishes for $8 (50 kr) and usually that's the price for two.... so I grabbed these:

The polishes are Dolce Blue, Rose Powder and Blazing Yellow. I seem to have a thing for yellow... probably because of spring! A few days ago I also found a really pretty polish at Tradera. It's really hard to show this color in a picture, but I guess a lot of you already have seen this one in real life.

This is Sinful Colors #305, St Lucia Blue Sky. It is a duochrome, and I think the base colors are blue and gold, I can also see a bit of pinkish purple. I'm saving this one for something special.....I just don't know what yet!

Depend Spring 224

Ok, I've had this one now for a while but not come round to showing it..... I didn't have time to put it on my nails yet, so you get a displaywheel-picture instead! This is like the 223, the silver one, only in gold. It has the same texture and finish and I really, really like it!

On the left you se a glimpse of Pieces in Candy Dandy and on the right a peak at Yves Roches in Or scintillant. Number 15 is Depend 224 that's been missing for a while.....
