South Beach

I came in contact with this polish in the spring of 2011, it was also in the spring collection from 2012 and is till available... It's a lovely bright coral orange named South Beach (713).

Here I put 3 coats on in order to get it opaque and it looks really good.

As with all the newer polishes I have no problem with polishing and I love the wide brushes!

Hope you enjoyed!

Depend 307

Pulling out the rest of the polishes from the Summer Collection 2012 and there was a lot of orange/red/pink polishes. This first one is orange, no doubt!

The sun makes it shimmer like crazy and it is a really fun summer color! Two coats made it look fabulous!

Hope you enjoyed!

Sun Orange

Orange and glowing!!

It looked odd at first but the more I look at it, the more I like it! It glows like the sun when put in sunlight and the orange color is amazing!

The only downside with this is the sheerness, I had to put three coats on for it to be opaque enough not to show VNL. But it was really worth the effort!!

Hope you enjoyed!

Depend 279

Another one with no name from Depend.

This one I found by coincidence in a grocery store in a nearby town when we went shopping. It looks really a lot like one I've been searching for but number is one off....  When I look at their website now, both of them should be available, but I haven't seen them yet. I really would like the other one too! I decided to put this one with Bronzing Gold (that you saw a couple of days ago) as a base on my pointer and ring finger and on it's own for the other ones. It clearly needs something to back it up otherwise you need more than three coats to make it really opaque!

It has a base of orange with lots of tiny round glitters in gold, green and some purple ones and it sparkles....

Hope you enjoyed!

Depend 124

As the sun was looking in through my window I wanted to watch this one. It is an old Depend, named 124. It's orange and I had a lot of trouble getting the right color to show in the photos, this is the best I could do....

It's working well on it's own, no need to put anything underneath to avoid VNL, 2 coat is enough. Not really my color, but a nice orange anyway!

Hope you enjoyed!

Week 29 - "Rockstar" Mani

I had no idea whatsoever what this mani was supposed to look like and Google wasn't much help... soo I had an idea, I even tried it on a display wheel but my time never seemed to be sufficient to start a mani..... As I didn't have time to do the mani I wanted I decided to just go with the most bling-bling I could, and right now I wanted to try out OPI Extra-va-vaganza from the Burlesque Collection in 2010! This is one of the polishes I got from in my Secret Santa Carly over at Laquered Lover...

It is a jam-packed glitter polish in a clear base that works really well on it's own but I chose to put i over a copper polish to get some more color into it! And for the "Rockstar" part.... isn't bling-bling and extravaganza enough? I think it is!

Blurry one just to see the sparkle!

I really love this combo and Extra-va-vaganza is beautiful!!

Hope you enjoyed!

Week 18 - Cartoon Mani

I had to really think this one through and found out that I really don't have a favorite cartoon.... Instead I'm really into games and went back thinking about what my favorites are... and found this....

This is a game I played in my early teens in the nineties... Suplaplex! I don't know if any of you recognize it, but I really loved it and I'm pleased to be able to play it again even though it's quite old by now! I chose to practice my freehand for this and picked out a couple of icons from the game....

On my thumb you can see Supaplex himself, like a red kind of Pacman. On my index you have the evil scissor.... kind of like the ghosts in Pacman but they really follow you around fast! On my middle finger is the things you're supposed to collect. On the ring finger I have a diskette of the old kind. This yellow one is for blowing up stones. The pinky motive is the exit sign you have to locate to exit the level.

I've used both polish and acrylics for this one, the background colors are all Depend (Orange 242, Green 289 and black 39. The Blue is Wet'n'Wild Saved by the Blue, the gray is Depend 285 and the turqoise is Isadora Turquoise 114. The rest is acrylics.

This was/is my favorite game and it probably will be for a bit longer....

Hope you enjoyed!

Helloween!

For all of you who do celebrate All Hallow's Eve I decided to do a mani.... The bases are Depend 223 (silver) and 124 (orange). I used BM 13 for the web and spider and BM 222 for the pumpkin. I stamped the Jack O'Lanterns with the orange polish and the web with the silver polish. The spider is in Konad Special Polish.

The stamping went pretty well this time, only one nail had to be redone so I'm happy.

Hope you enjoyed!

Browns, Golds, Yellows and Nudes

As I have not bought any new polishes for a while I'll show you this wheel with one new color on since last time. I really need to go to some other town polish-shopping soon!!

Wheel I:
1: Isadora: Cool Camel
2: Depend: 242
3: Depend: 248
4: Isadora: Golden Breeze (86)

Number 4 is the new one here and I really liked it! It is shifting in gold, copper and reddish brown.

Hope you enjoyed!

Depend 248

This is an apricot color and it turned out almost nude on me. It is a jelly but 3 coats made it look really nice and no VNL. As I almost always nowadays forget to paint my free edges, I get tipwear really fast.

I'm sorry about the oil drenched first photo, but my cuticles reeealy begged me for some nourishment! As you can see, it i rather nude and not really my taste, but yet nice and subtle. I'll wear it for a couple of days and we'll see how I fell about it then!

Hope you enjoyed!

Browns, Golds, Yellows and Nudes

This nail wheel is just getting started and 2 of the colors on here are from the Depend Summer collection.
1: Isadora: Cool Camel (708)
2: Depend: 242
3: Depend: 248

It is a rather crappy photo this time, and I really hope I could get my but out of this seat when the sun shines and get a new one..... Both no 1 and 2 is already shown and no 3 is coming up this week. This week also completes the Depend Summer Collection of 12 polishes.

Hope you enjoyed!

Depend 244

An pink/orange gelly..... I originally did not like the color, but once I put it on my nail it work!

As you can see, I got a VNL, all because I did not think before I put it on.... with a white base underneath it will be gorgeous! I could have worn this for several day if I had not tried to use my Isadora Grafitti nail polish. A black crackle on top of this would have been sooo nice, although my crackle polish is done.... and I hope a nice cleaning of the brush can make a difference... it's covered in lumps..... well, the 244 is a very nice, salmon pink, color and I really like it!

Hope you enjoyed!

Depend 242

As I was making my next choice of color I went for something I usually don't wear - orange. I took my own advise from wearing the red/pink polish and put a white base under it, and it looked really good!

The color is a really popping orange with a silver shimmer. Also a really sheer formula and the white base made the orange come out a bit better.

This is a color that is perfect for summer and someone with a darker skin tone than mine....

Hope you enjoyed!

Finally here!!!

I've finally received my prize for the Depend Design-competition. My choice was to get all 12 colors of the new Summer Collection as well as their Nail & Cuticle Cleanser and some light blue loose glitter. This was really worth waiting for because the collection consists mostly of blue and green color which you by now know is what I'm always drawn to! For now you'll have to stick with some bottle photos.....
Nail and Cuticle Cleanser and loose glitter
243, 242 and 251, all shimmers
252 (glassflecked), 247 (frost), 122 (with a pink sheen)
246, 250 and 249, all crémes
244, 245 and 248
Swatches and nailart is coming up, these just arrived.... I just hope to get some creativity going as well as some extra time and a nice bright sun!!

Hope you enjoyed!

I wheel:

Depend 135

This is one of Depends polishes from their Spring 2011 Collection and I wanted to show the three I have left of those before I get into their Summer Collection that came out this week!!

So, this is number 135 (no names as usual) and it is a jelly. The color is orange with hints of both red and brown. After two coats I still have a VNL. It's a cool color but not really on my favorites list....

The jelly consistency was really easy to paint with and I had almost no mistakes. Otherwise it was just like the regular Depend polishes.... And yeah, I woke up really early this morning due to really loud thunder and lots of lightnings and thus the pictures are taken outside in cloudy daylight.

And yes, I had a little accident involving my thumb and our car..... I've been patching and gluing it together on the left side.... even so before putting on this color. This time it didn't stick and I ended up cutting the whole thing off :(

Well, part from the ugly thumb I hope you enjoyed!
