P!nk concert!

Last weekend me and my friends (including my hubbie) went to Stockholm and The Ericsson Globe Arena to see P!nk. It was really awesome and I had the nails to match!

I pulled out all my pink swatchsticks and chose and old polish by Isadora that the recently made available again. This is Power Pink (192) and I wanted something more than just a plain color so I decided to take out my Bundle Monster plates and play. This time my choice fell on a nice spiderweb from the BM13 and I stamped with Gothic Black (191) also by Isadora. On top as my topcoat I put Glistening Snow (168) by Claudia to make my nails sparkle!

For once I must have made something right because this manicure just started chipping yesterday and I had to take it off. That makes a whole week wearing this one!

French Manicure!

After a bit of a break from nailpolish I'm starting off with a nice glamorous French manicure. I've used Isadora Glamour White (649) for the tip and Claudia Glistening Snow (168) as the top coat.

This is photos from my iPhone, nothing fancy but it really shows the sparkles!

Oh, and I did make some finds at the after christmas sales, but those I'll show you in time!

Glamorous Black

This is the polish I wore to the Nickelback concert two weeks ago. I made it simple and it matched my outfit and the music! I used Claudia in 167 "Glamorous Black", a nice black base with small silver glitter.

The concert was great! It was my first time ever and I really got shivers all over thinking about it!!

Week 2 - French Tip Mani

"Are you classy, funky, modern or trendy! Your french tip does not have to be just 1 white line!"

I'm actually most on the classy side, but took my chance. This is my take on the classic French Mani....I use Turquoise (114) from Isadora on the tips and covered the whole nail with Glistening Snow from Claudia. The 2 first photos are without the Claudia polish and the last to with it so you can see the difference!

And clumsy as I am I managed to destroy two of the nails after photographing them! The last photo shows my middle finger without the shimmer.... These are two of the colors that I found in my "untried" drawer and they are now considered tried and gets to move up to their other tried friends!!

Wedding manicure

This Friday I went to our neighbors wedding and I just had to make my nails look nice. To my advantage I had all of them intact and long enough to do a french manicure which is unusual for me. This is really just a normal french tip but I chose Isadora Glamour White (649) for the tips because it has a nice whine to it and then I topped it of with Claudia Glistening Snow (168) to get some shimmer.

 These photos are taken indoors and after a couple of days use.... including some cut'n'paste for a minidisplay at my local geneology society.

Claudia Lilac Pink

As I was updating the blog and reorganizing my Helmer (to get room for new bottles) I found this and realized I haven't tried it! It is a nice purple with a little pink sheen to it. It was really easy to paint with and the formula is opaque in two normal coats. What I see now when I look at these photos is that the color in the bottle is more purple.

When I was taking these photos (day after painting) I noticed tiny bubbles on one nail so I guess it didn't like my base or top coat. Fortunately they were tiny!

Then I figured I wanted to do something for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and made these:

Haul!!

Well... I thought I'd buy more polishes when I was away to a really big mall this weekend, but sadly I came home with only 4 and one is "Start to Finish" by Kiss. The other three is a ridge filler from Kubiss and a black and a white shimmer from Claudia. To the left is "Glistening Snow" and to the right "Glamorous Black"

Yesterday I went to my local Kicks-boutique and looked for the new Depend collection for fall, but the had their delivery today and wasn't done unpacking it yet... so nothing this time, I'll have to check again tomorrow. I did purchase to of their own polishes just to try them out. The left is "Fab Jean" and to the right is "Electric Blues"

At Ullared I also bought some nail sticker, a buffer, cuticle balm and the above mentioned "Start 2 Finish" but I think those picture are plain boring......

First time tape manicure!

I made this for the Polish-aholics Anonymous Monday Mani. It was a bit of trouble because I had a really hard time choosing my colors and then to get some straight lines and crisp edges..... This is what came out!

In the night (atrificial light) on top and outside in the sunlight underneath. I really like the color combo, it sticks out!! The purple glitter is Sparkling Purple from Claudia and the yellow is Acid Yellow from Mavala. I painted the accent nails yellow and the rest purple. Then I taped one accent nail at a time and painter it with the purple to create the pattern. At last I took a dotting tool and made some dots.....

Glitter mix

As for the last day of this week and also for midsummer festivities I want to show you some actual glitter! As I knew this glitter was very sheer, I chose to get a pink color underneath it. For that I chose Depend 87, that is a nice pink and it worked very well together with "Glitter mix" from Claudia!!

The only thing missing here is that the glitter would not show up as much as I wanted in the photos!

The glitter actually has a nice pink base (but to sheer to be on it's own) so I layered it and it came out really good. The actual glitter consists of regular small glitters as well as a bit smaller hexagonal ones. It gave a nice effect!

Guest Nails

A while back I got to try out one of the Claudia Cosmetics Sweden polishes on my friend Linda!

We had a taste of summer with a bit of a apple tart and whipped vanilla cream and just wanted to do something to cheer us up and this was the result....

I choose the purple glittery one of course, Sparkling purple is the name and the number is 159. The formula is sheer but yet thick and has kind of a strong smell. Even though it's sheer it only took 2 coats to get it opaque. The brush was small but good, I got a god grip in the handle..... The color is great, a nice purple with lots and lots of silver/pink glitter in it!

It really sparkles, the picture does not give it justice as always with glitter polishes!

Claudia Hot Lava

Here comes the second one of my Claudia Polishes. This one is called "Hot Lava" and has the number 166.

I got a request to do a swatch of this one from Olivia after I posted the Monday nail wheel. As I saw it I was actually wearing the polish and here it comes!!

The formula was really good and it was really easy to paint with. The finish is a smooth créme that floats out and does not leave any brushmarks or streaks. It has just a normal brush and this time I had god control over it. As you probably know by now I have a hard time wearing red, unless it's glitter! Well, I think I'm changing.... this has a tad bit of shimmer in it which of course helps but also gives it a great color. I think it gets to stay on for a few days! The pictures are take in daylight on a cloudy day and would not show off the shimmer as much as I wanted it to!

Claudia Shocking Pink

I got this one from my sister in law (look here) and I requested that she'd buy it.

It was a definite win! It is a darkish pink with just a hint of purple shimmer. The formula is somewhat thin and I needed 3 coats to get it opaque enough. As I have a really hard time liking red nails (and sometimes pink) this was a surprise. Although the name says "shocking pink" I personally don't think shocking is right. I think it's a perfectly sophisticated pink with a small twist! Perfect for both work and play.....

The brush is quite small but yet not hard to handle. I'm not the best painter, as you've all seen, but I only got a couple of smudges with this one!

Gold & Pink Watermarble

My second attempt at water marbling and I wanted to show you the results.....

I found it a bit hard to do and had to figure out a way to get as close to filtered water as I could (anyone know a good way of getting filtered water in Sweden without spending a lot of money?) The polish would not spread as good as I wanted it to, but enough for me to dip my nails in. I'll show you both hands and my favorite nails.

For you who are thinking of trying this, do some research and make sure you have the supplies and a few hours to play. Your first try, or even second, will not be perfect (mine isn't) and just have fun with it!!

Top pictures are of my left hand (to the left) and my right hand. Bottom pictures are of my right thumb (left), my right ring finger (middle) and my left thumb (right). The lower pictures are my favorite outcomes of this trial. I found myself hurrying past myself and not taping my nails so I had to start over a few times.

The nails are prepped with a base coat (as always) and then Isadora Tip White to make the colors more vibrant and visible.... The two colors I used for the marbling is China Glaze Midnight Kiss and Claudia Shocking Pink.
