Neon Yellow

This is Neon Yellow by KleanColor and I got it together with the other KleanColor polishes in August of 2011. I bought this one because I had not yet found a nice yellow polish that isn't to runny or to sheer.

This one goes on in two coats, has a nice color and looks nice. The backside of KleanColor is the smell and the ridiculously long drying time.... Anyway, it works and I like it!

I really hope that summer is on it's way....

Hope you enjoyed!

Stars!

I wanted to wear this polish for a long time and it's been sitting on my desk for weeks. From time to time I've painted my nails with it, but never got round to taking a photo before it was to late.... But this time I did!

This is Depend 310 from the Summer Collection 2012. It is a shimmer light blue, almost metallic-looking. It goes on nicely in one coat, but is perfect in two coats.  I just love it!

As I wanted a twist and something more that just a plain color I decided that I wanted Blind Date (195) by KleanColor on top.... That was harder than I expected. It is a clear polish with star glitter in it. I ended up with just one star on each nail because every other time the brush had no stars on it and  it was more time consuming to try and get several stars out of the bottle! Not that good, but at least something else. I really think this is coming off real soon anyway, I didn't like it all that much with the stars.

Comparison - Nubar vs KleanColor

I somehow managed to blurt out that a comparison would be nice of these to, so it's time to show it.... I just got Nubar 2010 a couple of weeks ago and just loves it! The KleanColor Chunky Holo Black I've had for a while but never really had an urge to try...

So, I've put together some photos for you to see the differences, and it's quite a lot! Let's start!
Check out the bottles first of all....The Nubar is in a clear base while the KleanColor has a tinted base (red) I can also tell that Nubar has only irregular shaped flakes and that there are hexagonal "glitters" (both big and small) as well as smaller round "glitter". From what I can see there is no "flakes at all in the KleanColor bottle.... As for the smell: Both of them are pungent, but I think Nubar is a bit better... Now on to the painting...

I  did a completely black base for both of them and put Nubar on my pinky and middle finger and I got KleanColor on my ring finger and index finger. The first photo is taken after just one coat of each polish. Both does very well, although the KleanColor is a bit tacky and gooey and hard to get even. When I put the second coat on it worked out well with the look and application, the KleanColor was harder. I almost had to place the "glitters" and the coat get really thick.

I did swatch these on a nail wheel just to see the differences above a little better....
From L to R: Nubar, KleanColor, Nubar (on black), KleanColor (on black)

Now you can see the tinted red base of the KleanColor one and as you actually can see here it's rather hard to get it even.

I guess you've already managed to guess which one I love more! Nubar is the superior one and if you are considering to buy one of these, I would recommend Nubar!

Week 21 - Fruit manicure

I had a hard  time coming up with something for this one and went out on You Tube. There I found THIS and made my own version.

This is a funky French (yes, I like French nails) with a lemon twist!! I alternated green (Wet'n'Wild SaGreena the Teenage Witch) and yellow (KleanColor Neon Yellow) on my tips and filled in the whole nail for accent on my ring fingers. Then I used acrylic paints to make the details and I really wanted to go over it with a nice fine glitter.... I look through all my display fans and found nothing.... until I checked one last time and found Claudia Glistening Snow just sitting there!! Perfect!! The only thing now is to practice more with my right hand....

As you can see i got some bed marks also.... grrrr!

 Hope you enjoyed!!

Chunky Holo Purple

As the deep purple wasn't enough.... I topped it off with the Chunky Holo Purple (234), also from KleanColor. These to make an awesome pair and I really liked it. The only downside is the drying time.... it took forever! As you can see in the photos I had gotten a couple of dents and they kept on coming after that.... I had to redo the whole thing!  Other than that... it looks GREAT!

And I managed to get it in the last sunlight of the day!

Hope you enjoyed!

Metallic Purple

I've been waiting for the right opportunity to wear this color, and here it is! This is a deep purple metallic polish by KleanColor named Metallic Purple (167). I just painted one coat and it was enough! The color is a bit darker than in the pictures, it was hard to catch it. This one dried really fast but the smell is horrible... like pure solvent for some reason. The bottom picture is the most color correct one.

Week 3 - Block Mani

This is my interpretation of the block mani. Initially I wanted to do this on all nails... but I don't have the patience to do it! So... accent nails it had to be!

I used four colors: KleanColor - Neon Yellow, Isadora - Dolce Vita, Snowman - Metallic Green and Isadora - Galaxy. For the black I used an old striper polish. I see now that the black wanted to bleed a bit so I should have waited a bit longer with the top coat....

Hope you enjoyed!

Blue anyone?

I've been meaning to try out my new Klean Color polishes ever since I got them, but there has been so much going on in my life and right about now everything is pretty calm so I took the chance! I took Metallic Aqua.... (indoor photos, no sun!)

And then, after opening my secret Santa package, I layered it with Holo Blue....

I did not find that much of "holo" in this color, more a multicolored glitter that just is amazing! I actually can't stop looking at my nails!! And as a bonus I got to take the last photos in sunlight, thank you weather! These two polishes has great formulas, the Metallic Aqua only needs one coat if your careful. The Blue Holo needs two coats and then it is gorgeous. I found the brushes to be pretty good, I had just a couple of smudges to clean up!

ps. The idea of layering this over Metallic Aqua came from Egde of Sanity! Thanx, it worked out great! ds.

Display fan - news

I've decided to abandon the nailwheels for the display fan.... It's a lot easier to show whole collections and swatches of my new polishes this way. You'll probably see the wheels anyway on some occations!

Today the swatches of my KleanColor polishes is up, as well as three new Isadora and a couple of Kicks.

The photos are taken inside and I could not find a decent light in our apartment.... I'll try to get some better photos when the sun comes out in about 4-5 months time...

Hope you enjoyed!
